Chef Ken
On most days you’ll find chef and owner Ken behind the sushi bar, but often his warmth and genuine interest in his customers and their satisfaction brings him out front.
Ken Yim got his first-hand culinary experience with sushi since 1993 with a family-owned sushi restaurant in Vancouver. When the opportunity presented itself to open his very own venue, Ken took it and opened the doors to Ken Sushi House in 2016.
Located in the bustling Phillip Square in Waterloo and often cited as the Region’s best, chef Ken gets fired up serving incomparably delicious sushi, sashimi, and impeccably crafted fusion creations.
When asked what success means to Ken, his response is ‘work harder !!! and always treat customers as neighbors and friends !!!’. Clearly the hard work has paid off. Ken Sushi House consistently serves up the very best to its Waterloo University community and the surrounding Kitchener-Waterloo region.
